Google Expands Gambling Ad Placement to 35 Countries in AdSense

Google will update its advertising policies for AdSense, Google Ad Manager, and AdMob on August 10. The change allows DSP platforms to display gambling advertisements across more than 35 countries without requiring individual certification for each advertiser.

The updated rules apply exclusively to programmatic inventory purchased through Authorized Buyers. Advertisers running campaigns directly via Google Ads must still comply with existing country-specific certification requirements. The new policy covers online casinos, sportsbooks, bingo and slot platforms, digital lotteries, scratch cards, and games featuring virtual currency with real monetary value.

The eligible region now includes Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and Peru, alongside markets in Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Publishers may experience higher competition for gambling-related ad space under the new framework, though site owners retain the ability to block gambling advertisements through their AdSense dashboard settings.

Policy Implementation Details

Google will release the complete text of the revised advertising policy on August 10. The platform previously required separate verification for gambling advertisers in each supported territory.
